Imagine sipping a special concoction all day long and lose weight, a pound a week or more. It is entirely possible by substituting alkaline, ionized water for your other beverages, especially if you currently eat the typical Standard American Diet.

The Standard American Diet as it is facetiously called is loaded with fats and sugars and pretty much devoid of significant nutritional value. Supersize it and you can easily guzzle 900 calories in a 48 ounce super-size.

If you drink one of those every day, the sugar damage in your body can add up very quickly, along with the extra pounds. By making one small change in your daily fluid consumption, you can do your body a bit favor. If you simply add alkaline, ionized water to your diet and stop drinking sugary beverages, you can save yourself up to 900 calories of carbonic acid laden with sugar in the form of soda pop.

If you save 500 calories per day by switching your beverages to alkaline, ionized water, you will be saving about 1/7 of a pound of fat. A pound of body fat equals 3500 calories which means you could shed up to a pound a week. Give up some of those fatty foods along with it and you could save even more fat and pounds.

I can hear it now! Those soda pop addicts are saying they will just switch to diet soda. Now the sugar is gone. What you don't realize is that you have now taken on a more insidious cocktail of artificial sweeteners, along with the artificial colors and flavors, the carbonic acid and the other invisible ingredients. What do you expect your body to do with all of that? Your body basically regards all of the above as poisons and goes into overdrive to try to get rid of them. Since a lot of the drinks of choice contain caffeine, they begin to dehydrate the body. They cause the liver and kidneys to go into overtime to try to clean the blood of the toxins and excrete them. An emergency release of minerals from your organs, bones and teeth is used in a vain attempt to protect the blood and brain from the high acidic load. What the body can't get rid of is shunted into fat cells to protect your vital parts from being damaged by the high acidity.

Continuing to consume the Standard American Diet will continue to build toxins in your body which over time can lead to fatigue, body pains and health problems. Diabetes, heart disease and cancer are all a direct result of the Standard American diet. By drinking alkaline, ionized water, you can reduce your toxicity levels in your body. Toxins are stored in fat and if there is less toxins, there is also less reason for the fat to be there. It only makes sense to drink alkaline, ionized water for fat loss.
